Hybrid or blended-learning courses allow instructors to combine face-to-face and online instructional methods to create unique learning experiences for students. Dr. Cindy Furse has been using this approach to teaching in her ECE 3300 Introduction to Electromagnetics course for several years, with great success.
She graciously invited us to take a peek into the inner workings of her course – from the pre-class preparation to the in-class activities, including her reasoning behind why and how she has adopted a hybrid model. Dr. Furse met with us for 30 minutes prior to class for an introduction, then allowed us to sit in on class to observe, and finally answered questions following class.
